Hi, I’m Jake. My partner is Keesha. We are 2nd-generation unschoolers and advocates for non-conventional education styles. Many parents ask, “How can I make sure my kids get a good education?” As unschoolers, we’re shifting the paradigm and asking, “How can we ensure that our kids become lifelong learners.” Child-directed learning is the focus.

As “world-schoolers”, we have also spent nearly two decades working in community development, specializing in catalyzing interdependent, non-hierarchical, regenerative communities. Grounded in principles of anarchism, ecological stewardship, and simple reproducibility, we aim to ignite multiplying movements of healthy regenerative micro communities. We had the opportunity to contribute to a movement like this when we lived in Haiti (we both speak Haitian Creole). We’ve also worked in Malaysia, Bali, and now Virginia (although we’re planing to move again very soon). Through methodologies like permaculture initiatives and grassroots organizing, we have nurtured inclusive environments where each voice is valued, and every individual is empowered to contribute according to their skills and passions. Our ultimate vision is to ignite multiplying movements of healthy, regenerative micro-communities, serving as beacons of positive change worldwide. We believe we were created for village life!

For the last 4 years, we have been cultivating a piece of land in Virginia, called Wild Ridge. The mission of Wild Ridge is to repair the connection between humanity and nature. We believe in the oneness and inter-connectivity of all things. We desire to restore the soil of this small portion of the earth through cultivating a sustainable food forest through permaculture philosophy. We wish to multiply peace and love by caring for the earth, fostering healthy community, and respecting all creatures. We have built multiple micro-cabins, glamping tents, and communal living spaces. We are experienced in sustainable building, permaculture-style homesteading, and have a variety of practical skills.

Now, we are looking to move and hoping to find our tribe, or create a new village with new friends!
