Request

I'm still stuck in some capitalist structures while I transition to full regenerative living. So I need to figure out how to monetize what I want to build, or find an organization that wants to see it built.

Request category

Social, Marketing, Business strategy and ops, Technology / Development

Request details

I have two current initiatives that are driving towards a third long-term goal.

1. “Domesteading” — a SolarPunk approach to homesteading. Trying to meet my family’s needs with less money, freeing up my time and energy from software consulting for capitalist clients to do more regenerative work.

2. OpenEcoBuilder — a piece of software that helps people plan the physical infrastructure for EcoCommunities.

3. A network of EcoCommunities in the Ozarks BioRegion.

More details for all of these can be found at https://bioharmony.info/links

It is slow going on my own. I am providing for a family of 6, and do not yet live in a regenerative community. So all of my work on these goals is squeezed in as “hobbies” in my “spare time.” I want to find a way to live them and have these pursuits be enough to provide for my family. I have yet to figure out how to do that.

I suppose I don’t really know what I need to make that happen. The easy answer is “funding” — but I am open to other ideas. Maybe I just need to network and meet the right people who are already doing similar things? Maybe I need some coaching on how to monetize these goals? Perhaps some help getting my ideas in front of more people?

Offers

I would love to find a way to contribute what I’ve learned from a decade in the software industry into the regenerative movement. I have worked with the whole “stack” — so this can be anything from traditional “IT” services to helping with web and application development.

Offer explained

I have spent over a decade in the industry.

Bio

Share about yourself with the community

I am a Father, Husband, and BioHarmonic Architect.

I am transitioning out of a decade in the software industry and into a future of regenerative living.

I love to build, explore, dance, grow, and play. I love life, and it makes me sad that it feels like a privilege to be able to enjoy it. I am building towards a world where everyone’s basic needs are met by nature and community, enabling the true pursuit of happiness for all.
